The title directly references the U.S. Capitol attack on January 6, 2021, when a mob of Trump’s supporters tried to prevent Congress from formalizing the Presidency of Biden after the 2020 election. The airplane is a reference to American democracy and its bipartisan government system. Red-leaning states embroidered on leather are on the right wing, and blue-leaning states are on the left. The kite tied to the right wing, representing the 45th President Donald J. Trump, pulls the plane off course into a downward spiral.
